For those of you that are POSSIBLY interested in coaching or having your child participate... we are having a coaches training on Saturday, November 3rd, 2007. This isn't your everyday coaches training either; I'm calling it the ODYSSEY EVENT! The event will be at Puente De Hozho Elementary School from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Throughout the morning we will address some of the following questions:
What in the world IS Odyssey of the Mind?
What do I need to do as a coach, parent or teacher?
How do I do this? What type of commitment am I making?
What does the Odyssey of the Mind calendar look like - deadlines, upcoming events, etc.
What can I expect on Competition Day?
For my team - how do I know if they are doing "OK" and when they are so bad I should hide my head under a rock?
What if my team goes on to the State competition or World competition - what happens then???
My team is fighting and they hate each other - what do I do?
(and any other questions that came up from last year that I can think of between now and then - your ideas are welcome)

The day will be progressive. We will start the day explaining just what Odyssey is, move on to beginning coaching concepts and finish with more advanced concepts. (That way if someone just wants to come and find out what Odyssey is but doesn't want the coaches training, they are welcome to come for the beginning and leave as they'd like)
